What is Ovyd

A place to try a career on before you choose

Ovyd is a non-profit learning project. We won’t tell you who to be. We give you the chance to try different things, so the choice is yours.

Every try-out is a short course, a day in a professional’s shoes and an honest verdict: “interesting”, “not really” or “not for me”. Your verdicts add up in “My path” — and with each try-out it gets clearer where you’re drawn.

We don’t promise you’ll find your “life’s calling” in one try-out. But every try-out is real experience: you learn what inspires you, what drains you and who you enjoy working with. That’s what your own path is made of.

  • Free

Every course and certificate is free and open. All you need is an account.

  • At your own pace

Learn on your phone, tablet or laptop — whenever suits you.

  • No pressure

“Not for me” is a real result too. It helps you see where to head next.

  • Badges and certificates

A certificate and a badge for every try-out you finish. No rankings, no competition: you only compare yourself with yourself.

Courses

How it works

One career, three steps

  1. Course

Videos, short lessons, flashcards and tasks. See what the job actually involves.

  2. A day in the role

Live through a working day: make decisions, solve problems, see what happens next.

  3. Certificate and your verdict

Get your certificate and be honest with yourself about how it went:

    • Interesting
    • Not really
    • Not for me

Your verdicts add up in “My path” — so you can see which fields pull you in and which you can happily set aside.
